Bye, bye Logan....Hello St. George

[The past couple of weeks have been...hectic, to say the least.]

Steven graduated about 2 months ago, and has seriously had no luck with finding a job in Logan. He has looked every where, and has found nothing. We knew the economy was bad, but not this bad.. NO ONE IS HIRING!!!!

So a while back, my parents mentioned the idea of us moving into their home down in St. George, to see if he would have any luck down there, job wise. (I think my mom just wanted an excuse to come to St. George more often!!) Any way... we thought about it for a while, and thought there was no way we could leave Logan. My family is in Logan, we love our little house, we love our ward, and we really didn't want to even think about moving, especially with a baby.

After having no luck finding a job in Logan, we seriously started thinking about the move to St. George. Within about 2 weeks, we had come to the conclusion that we had absolutely nothing to lose by moving. Yes, I am going to be VERY homesick, and probably call home crying every day, but we feel like it is the right thing to do right now. Within about 5 days we have gotten our entire house packed up, and off to St. George. We will be outta here Monday! It is so not like us to just fly by the seat of our pants, and MOVE within 2 weeks, but we have prayed hard about it, and feel really good about going.

Steven has a couple of jobs that he has really looked in to, and when we arrive in St. George, he is going to go in for some interviews. So cross your fingers for us, and pray that he finds a good job down here.! Also, while all of you are freezing your butts off in L-town, ill be sure to definitely soak up some sun!!!!!!

(My mom warned me about our future ward...apparently there are so many old people that live around us... one Sunday, she said a few little old men were in "jazzy chairs", and using walkers to pass the sacrament!!! Ha Ha. We're going to be living by some real party animals!!!)

WISH US LUCK!

Carrots....yummy!!!

Today was Drews first time eating big boy food-- carrots! HE LOVED THEM! The first few bites he was a little unsure of, but after a few spoonfuls, he was so excited. I can't believe how big he is getting!

Here are a few pictures of our first day of "big boy food" success!

4 Months!

Today was Andrew's 4 month appointment! I can't believe my baby is already FOUR MONTHS! Dr. Brown was so impressed at how well he was doing, and at how chubby he had gotten in only 2 months! Drew now weighs 17# and is 24.5 inches. He is in the 87th percentile for weight, and 32nd for height. So he is a short, fat little guy. He went from being in the 40th percentile, to 87th in only 2 months. He sure loves to eat. We also started giving him a little bit of rice cereal here and there, and he LOVES IT! He has gotten so good at using his little spoon, and now tries to grab the spoon out of my hand and hold it himself. :)

He has such a funny little personality. I think he is going to be a hand full as he gets a little bit older. He has mastered screaming, and knows that he can always get our attention by doing so. He also loves to grab our faces and try to "kiss us", or suck on our noses. Gross, but really funny!

We are loving every second with him. He is so much fun to be around, and we are very blessed to have such a fun, happy little baby!

Day 5

Day 5- A picture of me 2 yrs ago...

I couldn't find a decent picture of just me, so it's of me and my hubby!

Day 4

Day 4- My idea of the perfect date

My favorite date my husband and I went was our very first date. Steven and I met at working at Hamilton's, and from the moment I saw him, I thought he was so cute, and hoped he would ask me out someday! I was SO shy around him at work, and the day he finally asked me to "hang out", I couldn't stop smiling.. haha.

Our very first date was so cute. Steven took me to the Italian Place in downtown Logan, and we got some delicious sandwiches. I don't think I had ever been so nervous on a date before. After we had lunch, Steven told me he had a surprise for me... I thought, "isn't it a little early for surprises?" But he had rented a tandem bike for us to ride around town! I thought it was going to be lame, but we had SO much fun!

I loved this date because we got to know each other so well. That is my idea of the perfect date. Check out my video!!! :)

Cricut cake!

Tonight my mom, sis in law and myself had a blast making a cake! For Christmas my mom bought the girls a Cricut for making cakes, and tonight was our first attempt. It was my sister Vanessa's birthday today, and we are celebrating tomorrow, so we figured we would make her a b-day cake.

It was a very LONG process of trial and error, but we finally got the hang of it. From rolling out fondant, coloring fondant to making roses, we had finally made a darling birthday cake. I am going to be sad when we destroy it tomorrow!!

I will keep posting pictures of our progress... and you never know, maybe we'll have a television show one day on TLC. Haha! :)

Day 3

Day 3: A photo of your best friend

When I think of my best friend, it has to be Emily Swenson Armstrong. Emily and I hung out every day (my junior year and her senior year). She is one of those girls that you can sit around with, doing absolutely NOTHING and have a blast! I could always count on Emily for everything. She was always there for me when I "needed to go get a diet coke", and a million other times! I have so many fun memories that come to mind when I think of her, and I am sad that I can't see her every day anymore. We used to joke with each other about how we hated boys, and how rude they were to girls, and that when we got older we wanted to be "cat women", and live next door to each other with all of our cats. Hahaha. Thank goodness, we both found nice boys to marry, and we no longer risk being "cat women." Phew!

Another one of my favorite memories that come to mind when I think of Emily... one night we were super bored, and we decided we wanted to have a donut eating contest...between ourselves...?? Weird, I know. So we went to Albertson's, bought a "bakers dozen" of glazed donuts, and the competition was ON! As we opened the box, we started to divvy out each of our donuts.... We were SO excited, because the idiots at Albertson's gave us an extra donut!!!!! Instead of 12 donuts, there were 13 in the "bakers dozen". Well... come to find out, we were actually the idiots, because a "bakers dozen" comes with 13, instead of 12! Now we know...

Anyway, those are just a couple of memories about my best friend. LOVE YOU EM!
