Pictureless Post {Lame, I know}

I feel like I have neglected writing in my journal so much lately. I have been so busy with trying to get good grades, being a wife, and chasing around a CRAWLING baby! Why on earth was I so excited for him to become mobile?? It is such a hassle, but he sure loves it!

About 2 weeks ago, Andrew started to "army crawl". We were hoping that while we were in Logan, Drew would see Olivia (his cousin) crawling, and that he would figure it out. Well.. that wasn't the case. He continued to "army crawl", but never couldn't quite figure out the arm movements, until.. the other day... And holy cow, does it keep me busy. Now that he is crawling, he is now too cool for his bouncy toy that used to keep him entertained ALL day. He also knows how to get out of his Bumbo, hates his swing, so there is no place other than his crib that I can put him, knowing he will be safe.

Andrew has also started doing something that I think is so funny. Every day we have play time in his bedroom, and I let him play with all of his toys, and basically do whatever he wants. (His room is baby proofed.) The other day as we were playing, he figured out he could move his bedroom door.. he then realized he could actually shut the door! It is the funniest thing I have ever seen. He pushes the door, crawls a bit, pushes it some more, crawls, and then shuts it! haha! I have it on video, I just need to upload it!

Well, life is going great! We are really liking it down here in St. George, but it is pretty lonely being away from family. I was never homesick when we first moved down here, but each time I go to Logan to visit, I feel more, and more homesick when I have to come back to St. George. Hopefully we'll be able to move back, or closer someday! :)

My next post will have pics, I promise!

what we've been up to lately..

Last month my hubby and I celebrated our 2nd Anniversary! We went to our favorite Sushi restaurant called Benjas. It is delicious. If you ever go there.. you have to get the mango dessert. It is sticky rice, with coconut milk and sliced mangos. A-MAZING! This year we had a guest joining us (Andrew) because we had no babysitter :) He was such a good boy at dinner, and actually sat in his car seat the whole time. -That's a first! It was such a fun day, and I cannot believe 2 years have already gone by! I love you, Steven!

Last week Andrew had quite the adventure! He went on his first airplane ride. My parents wanted Andrew and I to head up to Logan early for the long Memorial Day weekend, while Steven worked. He had to work until Friday, so on Wednesday Drew and I were on our way. I was so nervous to fly with a baby. Andrew was teething so I thought it was going to be a disaster. But he did SO good. He didn't even make a peep, and slept most of the time. All the people on the plane were quite impressed! (I wanted to get a picture of him, but I was too preoccupied!)

We had such a fun time in Logan and loved seeing everyone. After we were in Logan for a few days, we then made it down to West Jordan to visit Stevens family. Here are a few pictures from our visit!

(My friend Emilys baby, Grahm, 4 weeks)

(Drew was getting his 2 bottom teeth, and was not very happy!)

(Spongebob jammies! He loves watching Spongebob on TV)

(Ready to go bowling!)

(At the bowling alley with daddy! He LOVES his dad)

(First time on the trampoline with aunt Tay)

(Sippin' his water bottle!)

(Teething and eating anything, and everything)

(Playing with aunt Jenn after church!)

(Playing with grandma Deb)

In 6 days Drew will be 8 months old! I can't believe that within only 4 months he will be a year old. It is so crazy to think about! He has started to "army crawl", and now has 2 cute little bottom teeth! I have been trying to get a picture of them, but he pries that little mouth of his shut! So as soon as I can get him to show us his teeth, ill post a pic! They are sure cute little things! Also, the past couple of weeks his favorite word to say is, "Mama". I love it! I hear, "ma ma ma ma" all day long!

As for Steven and I, we are doing great! Steven is really loving his job, and is now studying for the GMAT, and thinking about going back to school to get his masters. Hopefully that will take us back to Utah State!! (Cross your fingers for us!) As for me, I am just taking online classes, and staying very busy being a mommy!

I think this picture is so cute, so I thought I'd share :)

7 months old!

Today Andrew hit his 7 month mark! It seems like just yesterday, that he turned 6 months. It blows my mind every day at how fast the time passes.

Andrew has gotten to be quite the demanding little stink! He knows that he has his daddy and I wrapped around his little finger, and uses it to his advantage. The past 6 months, Steven and I have swaddled Andrew to sleep every night, and he used to love it. Now that he has gotten a lot more mobile, and can roll like crazy, he absolutely hates being swaddled, and always manages to free himself. He also has taken interest his his baby monitor that was in the corner of his crib. (Before, he could never touch it, because he was swaddled.) The other day, during his nap, he managed to get out of his blanket, and decided to turn his monitor off. He also loves to pull the bumper pad off of his crib, and play with it. He is a HANDFUL!

I can't believe how much of a little boy he already is. When Steven gets home from work, Andrew goes wild!!! He loves when his daddy gets home to rough house with him. Andrews new favorite thing to do is, make "farting" noises from his mouth, and gets slobber all over the place. He thinks he is pretty funny. :)

His daddys xbox controller is one of his favorite toys..

And eating is his favorite thing to do!

He loves to watch Spongebob Squarepants every morning, and bounce in his Jumparoo! If I ever put him in his Jumparoo without turning on the t.v. he yells, and yells, until I turn it on... no good.. So we are going to take a television hiatus this week, (well Andrew is)!

I LOVE this little boy so much!! He is SO much fun!

Where does the time go?

Six months ago, Steven and I were sitting in a hospital, holding our longed for baby. Looking down at his sweet face, and wondering how we got lucky enough to have such a perfect little boy.
For nine months we pictured who he was going to look like, what kind of a personality he would have and what it would be like to be parents. He was finally in our arms, and we had no idea how it would change our lives forever.
Taking Andrew home for the first time was such a surreal feeling. We had spent so much time preparing his nursery. From setting up the crib, picking out bedding, painting the dresser, finding a cozy rocking chair, and hanging letters on the wall. The once empty nursery was now filled with a sweet little baby, and our once empty hearts were now filled with something we never thought was missing.

Raising a child isn't easy. It takes a lot of getting used to...like, taking 3 minute showers, while peeking your head out every 20 seconds to make sure he is "still OK". Laying awake at night, even though you are extremely exhausted, just because you want to make sure he is "still breathing", and you also love to watch him sleep. Forgetting to feed yourself because you are so preoccupied with all of his needs. Selflessly giving up all of the things you once took for granted to spend every second you can with him.
These past 6 months have honestly been the best of my life. Andrew brings such a sweet spirit into our home, and I honestly cannot imagine my life without him. I never knew I could love a little person as much as I do him, in such a short amount of time. Being Andrews mommy is the BEST thing in the entire world.
As for Andrews 6 month stats:
Height 26 inches (45th percentile)
Weight 21lbs 14oz (95th percentile)
He is one chubby little guy!!!!! We sure love him.

Bahamas 2011

The past couple of weeks have been very eventful! My parents were so generous, and took our family on a cruise to the Bahamas!!!

A few days before we took off on our cruise, our little family journeyed up to snowy Logan, to spend a few days with my family. We had such a great time, and it was so good to see everyone. While in Logan, we decided to go shoot some guns at the gun range. Our exchange student, Eileen had never even held a gun, so we all had a good time watching her shoot for the first time.

After spending a few days in Logan, it was time for some nice weather! Because Andrew was not 6 months old, he wasn't allowed to even come on the cruise with us, so we had to leave him with Stevens parents. Leaving Andrew was seriously one of the HARDEST things I have ever done. I bawled, and bawled, and bawled! But it really was so nice to get away, and have some time with just Steven.

Our cruise was 5 days long. In a way, I couldn't wait for it to end, just so I could get home to my baby, and I also didn't want it to end, because who doesn't love laying on the beach all day, without a care in the world?

We were able to stop at 3 awesome places! The first island we stopped at was called Grand Turk. This place was absolutely beautiful, and had some of the most amazing pina coladas! While sitting on the beach, Steven managed to crack open a coconut. I was so excited to try some of the juice, but it was so gross! Grand Turk also had an amazing swimming pool, with a really fun poolside bar. We had a blast!

Our second stop was to a private island owned by Carnival Cruise lines called Half Moon Cay. This place was probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. The water was SO blue, and clear! We did some snorkeling, had burgers for lunch, played volleyball and had some really yummy Miami Vices (virgin, of course!).

Our final stop was to a place called Nassau. Nassau is the capitol of the Bahamas, and is also known for the famous water park called Atlantis. We were told that because it was spring break, there would be no way that we could get into the park, because it was going to be so full. We thought it was definitely worth a try, so we immediately took a taxi and went straight to Atlantis, and luckily, got in! It was AWESOME! It has some of the scariest water slides, ever! One of my favorite slides actually takes you through an aquarium of sharks while going down the slide. Atlantis also has such a fun lazy river. It lasted about 20 minutes, and instead of just being "lazy" the whole time, the river had huge waves and got a bit treturous in a few places. You know its fun when my dad can sit through it. :) While at Atlantis we also saw a celebrity, "Pauly D", and my sister and I got a picture with him! We had so much fun, and were so happy we were able to get in to the water park. I highly recommend it!!!

Once our cruise had come to an end, it was time to pick up our little guy! Words can't describe how excited I was to see him. I had really missed being a mommy, and being with him all day, every day. Although we had such an awesome time, I don't think ill be leaving Andrew again any time soon. Who wouldn't want to come home to this little guy?!
